The application of striking elements

The striking elements are the core components in the IK mechanical impact tests, the striking element shall be release from a height specified in table 2 of IEC60068-2-75, the corresponding impact energy will be generated.

The striking elements and pendulum arm can compose to pendulum hammers; the striking elements and release system can compose to spring hammers; the striking elements fall freely from a vertical height, that is vertical hammers.

The striking elements for severities not exceeding 1J tests is made of polyamide, for severities 2J and above tests is made of steel. The pendulum impact test apparatus is mainly consisted by striking elements, test rig, pendulum rods. The vertical impact test apparatus is mainly consisted by striking elements, test rig, fixed-height guideways. The spring hammer test apparatus is mainly consisted by striking element, the body and the release system.

How to conduct the ESD test?

What is ESD test? Electrostatic discharge immunity test is a basic EMC test . S tandard IEC61000-4-2 provide the immunity requirements and test methods for electrical and electronic equipment subjected to static electricity discharges, from operators directly, and to adjacent objects . T he standard establish a common and reproducible basis for evaluating the performance of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to electrostatic discharges. Electrostatic discharge is a transfer of electric charge between bodies of different electrostatic potential in proximity or through direct contact. The standard IEC61000-4-2 does not intend to specify the tests to be applied to particular apparatus or system, it is to give a general basic reference to all concerned product .   S o before conduct the test, an appropriate test level should be selected according to the product's characters and its working occasion.   Contact discharge and air discharge methods The test leve...

The relationship between standards IEC62262 and IEC60068-2-75

The IK code is a coding system to indicate the degree of protection provided by an enclosure against harmful external mechanical impacts. The standard IEC62262 defines the impact energy corresponding to different IK codes. In general, the degree of protection applies to the complete enclosure. If parts of the enclosure have differing degrees of protection, the latter shall be indicated separately.
