How to position the appliance in the test corner?

For heating appliance and combined appliance: 1. Appliances normally placed on a floor or table in use, are placed on the floor and as near to the wall as possible. 2. Appliances normally fixed on a wall shall fixed on one of the walls, and as near to other wall and floor or ceiling as is likely to occur, taking into account the instructions. 3. Appliance normally fixed to a ceilling shall fixed to the ceilling, and as near to the walls as is likely to occur, taking into account in the instructions. For motor operated appliance: 1. Appliances normally placed on a floor or table in use are placed on a horizontal support. 2. Appliances normally fixed to a wall are fixed on a vertial support. 3. Appliance normally fixed to a ceilling are fixed underneath a horizontal support. Requirement for test corner: The test corner, support and installation of buit-in appliances shall be made by plywood which has about 20mm thick and be coated with dull black paint. Thermocoupl...

What is draught-proof enclosure?

The draught-proof enclosure is rectangular, with a double skin on top and on at leat three sides and with a solid base, the double skins are of perforated metal, space approximately 150mm apart, with regular perforations of 1mm to 2mm diameter, occupying about 40% of whole area of each skin. It is applied to thermal test of luminaire under the conditions of normal operation and abnormal operation.  The inernal surface are painted with a matt paint. The three principal internal dimensions are each at least 900mm. There shall be a clearance of at least 200mm between the internal surfaces and any part of the largest luminaire for which the enclosure is designed (If it is required to test two or more luminaires in a large enclosure, be attention to take that radiation from one luminaie can not affect any other). There is a clearance of at least 300mm above the top of the enclosure and around the perforated sides. The enclosure is at a location protected as far as possibl...

How to choose the IK code test apparatus?

IK coding system is to indicate the degrees of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment against harmful external mechanical impact, which is given by IEC62262. The code is consisted by codes letters (IK) and characteristic group numbers (00 to 10), and each characteristic group number standards for an impact value, the values as below: IK code IK00 IK01 IK02 IK03 IK04 IK05 IK06 IK07 IK08 IK09 IK10 Impact energy(J) * 0.14 0.2 0.35 0.5 0.7 1 2 5 10 20 In order to give a common standard to electrotechnical equipment, IEC60068-2-75 environmental testing regarding hammer tests mentions three kinds of tool, pendulum hammer , spring hammer , and vertical hammer . To obtain repeatable and reproducible results, the test is more depends on the details of apparatus. The choice of the test apparatus depends on the orientation of the surface to be tested and on the energy level. Not all methods can be used in eve...

LED Flicker Photometer

As we all know, LED lights are more and more popular with the advantages of energy saving and environmental protection, but if the quality of LED lights is not good, there is a serious strobe. This strobe is undetectable to the naked eye and can easily be ignored by parents and children. LED lights on the market, there may be serious strobe! 1.  Where does LED flicker comes from? Strobe is the depth at which the luminous flux of an electric source fluctuates. The greater the fluctuation of the luminous flux, the more severe the stroboscopic. The depth of the fluctuation of the luminous flux of the electric light source is directly related to the technical quality of the electric light source. Conventional luminaires are powered by alternating current, and their brightness varies with the periodic variation of the alternating current. The strobe of the luminaire is formed by the change of darkness of the light. It is usually divided into two types: one is that the frequency o...

Thermocouple

Thermocouple is a commonly used temperature measuring component in temperature measuring instruments. It directly measures the temperature and converts the temperature signal into a thermoelectric potential signal, which is converted into the temperature of the measured medium by an electric meter (secondary meter). The shape of various thermocouples is often very different due to needs, but their basic structure is roughly the same, usually composed of hot electrode, insulating sleeve, protection tube, junction box and etc., and often equip with display instrument, recording instrument and electronic regulator, like multiplex temperature meter , black test corner and etc. According to the seeback effect, when two different metals are connected together, there is a contact voltage between the two contact points, which depends on the temperature. The connection of thermocouple materials is standard, and the different properties of the thermocouple materials determine their differe...

PG-NF Needle Flame Test Apparatus compares with IEC60695-5-11

1. Application scope The IEC60695-5-11 specifies a needle test to simulate the effect a small flame which may result from fault conditions, in order to assess by a simulation technique the fire hazard. It is applicable to electro-technical equipment, its sub-assemblies and components and solid electrical insulating materials or other combustible materials.  2. Description of the test apparatus 1) Burner: the burner to produce the test flame shall consist of a tub at least 35mm long with a bore of 0.5mm±0.1mm and an outer diameter not exceeding 0.9mm.The burner is supplied with butane or propane gas having gas having a purity of at least 95%.  PG-NF: The burner is made by stainless steel, the size is Φ 0.5mm ± 0.1mm, outer dia.: ≤Φ 0.9mm, Length: 35mm.  2) Flame: With the axis of the burner in the vertical position, the gas supply is adjusted so that the length of the flame is 12mm±1mm, when viewed in subbdued light against a dark background. The test ti...

Application of needle flame test apparatus according to IEC60695-11-5

IEC60695-11-5 specifies a needle-flame test to simulate the effect of a small flame, which may result from fault conditions, in order to assess by a simulation technique the fire hazard. It is applicable to electrotechnical equipment, its sub assemblies and components and to solid electrical insulating materials or other combustible materials. The needle-flame test apparatus must be designed according to IEC60695-11-5 clause 5, the requirements for burner, flame, chamber, specified layer, timer and etc. are given on clauses 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5. The test flame is applied to that part of the surface of the test specimen which is most likely to be affected by flames resulting from normal use or from fault conditions. Generally, the test results have two situations as below: 1) There is no flame and no glowing of the test specimen, and no ignition of the specified layer or wrapping tissue. 2) Flames or glowing of the test specimen and the surrounding parts extinguish w...
